Dr Martens Information
|
Dr Martens have a few main soles. They are listed in thickness as the; dms (original doc sole which is flat with the slightly rained tread) the hiker (same as the dms but cleated) bex (roughly twice as thick as the dms sole and clear in color) bec (either all black or clear with a black band) and envy (their thickest sole).
Dr Martens Warranty
Doc Martens have no lifetime warranty, this is a rumor which is false. Although they are made very well and last a long time, they wear out like any other shoe.
Dr Martens History
Docs were invented by a German orthopedist, Dr. Klaus Martens. Dr. Martens were a comfort shoe for ladies at first. Then in 1960, the first time Dr. Martens were made in Northamptonshire, England, the first Dr martens boots made was on 1st April 1960. That's where the boot got its name from; the 1460 or 4-1-1960. They are still family owned. Recently Dr martens have move labor to china or Indonesia to save on labor and fetch a better price point for the customer. The parts are made in the same factories as before. In our store people haven't noticed any difference in quality or comfort. Dr Martens retains its high production standards. And Dr. Martens have stayed at the top of English style and culture.
