Gripfast History
Gripfast have been manufactured by White & Co., a family business, since over 100 years ago (1890). The Gripfast brand is used for British work, police and military footwear. With good year welted construction and made on an original UK Army last, the 22mm Commando Double Sole reinforced boot sole with screws is classic gripfast work ware and style. Full leather grain leather uppers provide strenght and style as well. Most Gripfast shoes boots and sandals have a steel toe or capped toe.
Gripfast Soles
There are 3 basic soles. GS, gripfast single sole is the thinnest and on boots its got screws on shoes it does not. GD gripfast double sole is merely twice as thick as the single and has screws in both shoes and boots. GH gripfast high sole is used on shoes sandals and boots which normally do not have screws in the sole as the sole is very thick.
What is Rubb-Off Leather
Rubb-off leather is made by dyeing the leather one color then letting that color take hold and later dyeing it another color but before the second color takes hold, rubbing part of it off. This way the first color is only partly covered by the second color. For exmaple, the burgandy rubb-off is burgandy partly covered by black.
